As a young boy, there were only two things Michael Evans thought about: Sports and BBQ. His family owned and operated a rib house in Ford Heights, IL, for over 21 years. There he learned about business and BBQ and the discipline to succeed.
Michael´s natural athleticism led him to college wrestling at Louisiana State University. His wrestling transformed into a Professional Heavyweight Boxing career. Michael was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Boxing and Wrestling. He also became a member of the SAG - AFTRA in 1984 and featured in several movies, City Heat, Hill Street Blues, Remington Steele, and a BUD Light Commercial.
Eventually, he found his way back to his passion for BBQ and the great state of Illinois. Michael’s BBQ sauce journey started out like most small businesses, making small batches of “The Mighty KO Sauce” for his community out of his home in Tinley Park, IL. The love of his sauce encouraged him to take the leap and put it on the market for everyone to enjoy. Even today, the only things Michael Evans thinks about are BBQ, Family, and Sports!
